Teletherapy
Teletherapy, also referred to as telepractice, is a growing service delivery model that allows speech-language pathologists to provide therapy services to their clients via the computer in real time audio/video
What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy sessions are very similar to traditional speech therapy sessions with one major exception. Instead of sitting in the same room, clients and clinicians interact via live video conferencing. It is an effective approach that allows us to serve areas outside of our geographical location. We are also able to provide many of our tutoring services via telepractice.
Is Teletherapy as Effective as In-Person Services?
Teletherapy has been used to evaluate and treat clients of all ages. Research conducted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), has confirmed the effectiveness of online therapy. The technology is secure (following HIPAA standards), simple, affordable, and very easy to set up and use. Most clients who receive teletherapy report that they are very satisfied.
TESTIMONIALS
"The scores on our daughter’s most recent re-evaluation are jawdropping. She has gone from reading 13 words on a word identification subtest to 113 words in a year!! Her score went from 67 to 107! Her spelling score went from a 77 to a 99! She was at an early first grade reading level last year and is now testing at mid third grade! We are so thankful for sweet Miss Lori and all she’s done for us!"
