The writing can be based upon what the student is already learning through other subjects, or topics provided in class. Structure is a key element to the system; however creative experimentation is encouraged. Children are given structural guidelines and specific requirements which will eventually lead towards creative and independent writing. This program will bring writing to life!!

Handwriting Without Tears

The Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum draws from years of innovation and research to provide developmentally appropriate, multisensory tools and strategies for handwriting instruction. The program follows research that demonstrates children learn more effectively by actively doing, with materials that address all styles of learning.

We teach effectively with joy. We have figured out easier, happier ways for children to master handwriting. Handwriting Without Tears is dedicated to developing excellent materials for children and training for teachers. As a result, millions of students have successfully used our program. The result truly is handwriting without tears!

We really like the Slingerland instructional techniques for teaching cursive handwriting. The Slingerland Approach is an adaptation of the Orton Gillingham Method and is sequential, simultaneous, and multisensory. All learning takes place with the involvement of Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic-motor processing.

"The scores on our daughter’s most recent re-evaluation are jawdropping. She has gone from reading 13 words on a word identification subtest to 113 words in a year!! Her score went from 67 to 107! Her spelling score went from a 77 to a 99! She was at an early first grade reading level last year and is now testing at mid third grade! We are so thankful for sweet Miss Lori and all she’s done for us!"
